My Bridge Journey

Growing up, I always enjoyed playing cards, but nobody in my family played bridge. I did not begin learning the game until after college, when one of my good friends from high school and I started playing casually with his parents in our hometown of Kansas City. After a few months of playing socially, we decided to take our partnership to the local bridge studio, where we fully intended to make our presence felt and show all of these people in a sanctioned bridge competition just how good we were.

Suffice it to say, we were quickly put in our place and discovered just how much we had to learn. We had barely scratched the surface of what was ahead of us in this spectacular game. In the ensuing years, I played a LOT of club and tournament bridge and absorbed everything I could about the game in my leisure time while still working full time at “real” jobs. It was not until my move to Denver in 2006 that bridge became my profession… and the rest, as they say, is history.
